Still undecided about building a tiny house? Maybe we can help make up your mind with our reasons why we love tiny homes!

Most people think that the bigger the house is, the better it is. However, that may not be the case nowadays. Although we cannot deny the fact that bigger houses have more space for personal belongings, furniture, and appliances to make everyday living easier and more comfortable, tiny houses are also becoming a trend.

You might ask, why build a tiny house? There are several reasons why you should join the tiny house movement and below are just some of them.

1.  You can move where you want, go on travels and take your house with you.

Mobility is probably one of the biggest advantages of having a tiny house. Moving your house can be as easy as hitching it on a truck and then driving away to your destination. This will come in handy, especially if your job requires a lot of moving because of deployment to different places. You never even have to worry about hiring a mover to move your things because you can literally bring your whole house with you.

If you are going on a long vacation, you do not have to worry about packing up your suitcases or leaving your house without anyone to look after it. You can take your house with you when you travel, as long as your destination can be reached by land or a long drive. Even if you are just going on a short road trip, you can take your tiny house along so you do not have to pay for a hotel room as you have your very own vacation home.

Another advantage of having a mobile home is that you can avoid anticipated natural disasters. For instance, if there is a strong typhoon warning in your area and it is not expected to make landfall at least for a couple of days more, you can avoid its wrath by moving early and going to a safer place. At least, you do not have to worry about any of your belongings being destroyed by the typhoon.

2.  You can save more money by living tiny.

This is based on the premise that the smaller the house is, the lower the cost. We all know that buying a big and expensive house can lead to a financial disaster, especially if you are really not that ready for a big obligation to begin with.

Most people who buy big houses also have to deal with big mortgages and that is where the challenges usually begin. If you opt for a tiny house build, you can save a huge amount of money and not worry about any debt. Smaller houses can mean smaller mortgages or none at all. If you have saved some money, which is good enough for a tiny house, you can even pay for it upfront.  If you have the knowledge and the ability, you can even design and build your own tiny house so that you will only have to spend on the materials that you will use.

A smaller home also means cheaper power bills, and also the opportunity to live off-grid and provide for yourself. Living in a small space forces you to be more economical with your power usage and also your lifestyle choices.

3.  You can be extra friendly to the environment by living in a tiny house.

Since you would not be needing a lot of materials such as wood, more trees can be saved. Also, you can use a lot of recycled and re-purposed materials since you will only need a little amount. It will not only make you environmentally friendly, but your tiny house can also look very unique and extraordinary in a good way. By making the most of your surroundings you will recycle more as a consequence. Things like composting toilets mean you can even use the foulest waste in a positive way.

Tiny houses can also be set up for living off the grid. To give your house power, you can use solar or wind resources. That will be very beneficial and money-saving too, since you will not be needing a lot of electrical appliances in your tiny house anyway.

You can also take advantage of what nature gives when you install a rainwater catch and filtration system. With this, you do not have to be connected to a water supply and save on your water bills. But more importantly, saving rainwater and saving it for household use is good for the environment because it does not have to be treated, pumped, or go through a complex process.

Harvested rainwater saves energy and saves the use of chemicals for water treatment. You can also install a composting toilet for your tiny house to be truly functional and useful anywhere you go.

4. You can de-clutter not just your house, but your life as well.

When you live in a tiny house, you actually have no choice but to let go of things that you do not really need because if you don’t, you will not have enough space for the more important ones.

Living in a tiny house building will somehow force you to revisit your possessions and keep just those that matter to you and do away with the things that you have just because you thought they were cool or some kind of a status symbol. Once you let go of the not so important things, you will realize the importance of having lesser yet more meaningful possessions.

With only a few possessions, it will be easier for you to tidy up your house and keep it clean for a long time. Since you only have to clean a small area, you will not be overwhelmed with the idea of cleaning and de-cluttering. You can clean your tiny house so much easier and faster than before. Amazing furniture designs, and clever utensils can make life in a small space really easy.
